The Tucson Veterans Home is the first of its kind in the State of Arizona and a national standard for future veteran's homes built throughout the United States. The ±130,000 square foot facility houses up to 120 occupants with accommodations such as single dwelling units, activity rooms, common dining areas, rehabilitation facility, outdoor courtyard space, and a memory garden in the mental health wing. The home is located adjacent to the Tucson Veterans Hospital and has a 24-hour staff to care for Veterans with health related problems. The facility was designed to be a residential concept as well a place for rehabilitation. The concept of the home is to provide Veteran residents with a living environment that is comfortable and practical with resources to help those in transition as well as those with long-term healthcare needs.
