MIND 24-7 fills the gap for those seeking mental health help by being available right when they need it – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. MIND 24-7 partnered with SDB to create their flagship treatment center in Phoenix, AZ through the complete renovation of a former fitness center. The project was constructed in three phases and covered over 30,000 SF. Mind 24-7 serves separate adult and youth populations in state-of-the-art treatment spaces that offer a calm, safe, and secure environment to patients and care providers. Safety features include delayed egress systems, anti-ligature hardware and fixtures, an extensive monitoring system, and secure observation areas. To soften the safety-intensive nature of the space, Cox James Architects utilized high-end finishes, curved walls, windows and soffits, and a rich, calming color palette. This center allows patients to be seen in the right facility to meet their care needs and away from jails or hospitals, freeing those resources and first responders to address more immediate life and death situations. SDB is honored to be a part of this highly technical and challenging project, knowing the serious societal need that Mind 24-7 fulfills.
